We've had to put the climbing wall project on hold for the time being because, at the eleventh hour, the landlord has dramatically increased the proposed rent amount - almost 50 per cent more than previously agreed. Climbing walls do not make a a huge profit and need a reasonable rent to be a viable business, particularly now, when businesses all over the country are struggling. We know how disappointing this news will be, it is for us too. However, this is not the end of Brighton Climbing Centre - it may be that we can still reach an agreement at the Flexer Sacks site. As a project, we have got further than anyone else in Brighton and Hove and do not intend to give up just yet. Thanks for all your enthusiasm and support so far. Hang on in there!
